We have been working directly and fairly with farmers since 2018

We help in Cambodia the poorest farmers, improve their wage conditions, and motivate others to change.

Direct trade and fair trade

Currently, .pepper..field is the only company in the world that pays small farmers a 100% fair trade price officially set by KPPA – moreover, they always receive this amount directly from us, in full, without any intermediaries. Everything is completely under our control. We are striving to change wage conditions in Cambodia for the better and to motivate others as well.

Why small farms?

Small farms in Cambodia have had the best know-how in growing pepper since the 13th century. In total, there are about 300 small family farms in Cambodia compared to approximately five large farms owned by foreigners. Since the project launch in 2018, we have supported the purchase of pepper from an incredible 200 small families. The goal of .pepper..field is to ensure the long-term and sustainable development of these farmers, from whom we will continuously purchase 100% of their production under fair trade conditions so that their children can inherit the family legacy.

How does money help?

Most of these families use the money for farm maintenance, healthcare, school supplies, and equipment for their children. We have committed to returning a portion of our profits back to Cambodia for projects related to education and healthcare. We know all the farmers and always take care of them! During the coronavirus crisis in 2020, we organized the food drive 'Million for Cambodia'.

Get to know our farmers better

Although the production of small pepper farms in the Kampot province is among the world’s elite, their owners have long received only a fraction of the fair compensation for their work. We decided to change this situation, and today we help hundreds of them through the principles of fair and direct trade. As a result, they receive rewards that they truly deserve for their hard work, and they can afford in their lives things that we in Europe take for granted. Namely, education for their children, funds for farm development, medical care, and a happy life filled with fulfilled dreams.
