Handcrafted delicate work, which has remained unchanged for hundreds of years, is what the harvesting of coarse sea salt looks like.

It crystallizes on the surface of special pools called salt pans, into which ocean water is driven and trapped. The water gradually evaporates under the influence of the sun and wind, and on its surface, salty crystals form.

The formed crystals are collected by hand, without any intervention of machinery, using only long wooden rakes. As a result, the structure of the salt remains consistent and the salt is perfectly clean and of the highest quality.

The collection and processing of sea salt are, much like Kampot pepper, handled by individual small farms. Farming families pass down the tradition of producing sea salt from generation to generation. The salt is therefore of complete organic quality, without any need for subsequent refining. And just like with pepper, we purchase the salt directly, so that we can be sure that they receive the proper reward for their hard work.

Usage

You can use coarse sea salt for everyday cooking.

Season with it, use it for pickling, preserving meat, fish, and vegetables, prepare marinades with it, let the meat rest in a salt crust, or decorate the surface of baked goods with it.
